New Zealand is a recognised world leader in plantation forestry, being one of the few nations with a sustainable, renewable, forest resource. We are now into our fifth generation of experience with Radiata Pine as a plantation saw log species. Few, if any other plantation species have been grown that long. No other country has invested so heavily or wisely in research as has New Zealand. New Zealand is now an efficient plantation country and forestry investments here can be made with more certainty than in any other country in the world.

  • New Zealand's Forest Estate 1.5 million hectares
  • 3rd biggest export earner

    • Lower comparative risk
The Northland region is New Zealand's third largest forest resource with an estimated 150,000 hectares or approximately 10% of New Zealand's planted forest estate. Most of the region's forest have yet to reach maturity and when this occurs over the next 10-15 years harvested volumes from the region's forest will be more than 2.0 million cubic metres annually.

Northland has a warm, temperate climate and produces some of New Zealand's best quality and highest density Radiata saw logs. Growth in the Hokianga is prolific with average annual growth rates well above the NZ average.

New Zealand's Radiata Pine is a crop grown renewable source and has proven track records pre-1930's.
